As the President and CEO of the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce - the first female to hold this position in the Chamber's 110 year history, Theresa fights for the best interests of the region's business community - and this does not only mean big business.  In fact, 80% of the Chamber's membership base is comprised of small to mid-size businesses.  
Highly active in Chicago’s business and civic community, Theresa is on the board of Choose Chicago; a director of the World Business Chicago Steering Committee; a member of the President’s Circle of the Chicago Council on Global Affairs; and a member of The Economic Club of Chicago.  She also serves on the German Marshall Fund Leadership Development Advisory Council.

Reverend Dr. Marcenia Richards
Rev. Dr. Marcenia Richards is the founder and current Exec. Director of Fierce Women of Faith, an interfaith organization that promotes peace in Chicago.  She is the former Exec Director of the Peace Coalition Against Violence (PCAV).  In both positions she has successfully galvanized the support of the community and legislators around the issue of violence in Chicago. She has organized youth conferences for over thousands of youth and spurred political actions for individuals uniting for peaceful communities. 
Dr. Richards speaks throughout the country, and her teachings extend throughout Africa, Canada, Europe, the West Indies, and other countries.

Barbara Zawacki has nearly forty years in social service education, including school administrator at the therapeutic day school serving children with autism.  Among other significant accomplishments, Barbara designed and developed Easter Seals Metropolitan Chicago’s first Inclusive Child Care Program,  co-authored Easter Seals Metropolitan Chicago’s Head Start and Early Head Start grant, and authored Child & Family Connections, implemented in 1998.

ROTARY/One History


The Rotary Club of Chicago was founded on February 23, 1905.  Leaders of the club went on to establish Rotary International in 1910.  Paul Harris, Rotary's founder, became the first international president and Ches Perry, of ROTARY/One became the first general secretary of the newly formed international office.   The Rotary Club of Chicago, operating as ROTARY/One, the world's first service club, has for 110 years remained dedicated to the Rotary Movement and its continued growth to over 200 countries. ...FOR MORE ABOUT ROTARY'S HISTORY PLEASE CLICK HERE.
