Chicago’s Mayoral Election
Political analyst Manuel Galvan will discuss the nearly two dozen candidates who filed petitions to be Mayor
of Chicago. There have been challenges, objections, hearings and would-be mayors getting knocked off the February ballot. The survivors have been taking shots at one another and ducking knock out punches vying for the championship with bare-knuckle politics.
Galvan is president of Vantage Point Marketing, a strategy firm that has worked with clients on three continents, including corporations, government officials and political candidates. His strategy work has benefited clients as diverse as the White House Commission on Educational Excellence for Hispanic Americans and Whole Foods Market, where he consults on government, business and community relations in the Midwest.
His political work has included dozens of campaigns at the municipal, township, county, state and federal levels. Galvan has also handled media for the Cook County Democratic Party. Prior to launching Vantage Point 27 years ago, he covered City Hall for the Chicago Tribune before going onto the newspaper’s editorial board to handle political endorsements.
