Luncheon: Wayne P. Messmer, Broadcaster, Chicago Cubs

Wayne Messmer
M.Ed., Ph. D., CSP, Certified Speaking Professional Speaker ~ Singer ~ Broadcaster ~ Author ~ Actor
Wayne Messmer, CSP is in constant demand as a motivational and inspirational speaker as well as in the role of professional singer, best known for the National Anthem, which he has performed an estimated 5,000 times. Chicago radio listeners know him from his many years of on-air work. He hosts The Wayne Messmer Radio Show, on Sunday Evenings from 7:00-8:00 p.m. on 90.9FM/WDCB.org. Music fans from across the country also know him as a respected jazz vocalist and recording artist. His CD, recorded with pianist Judy Roberts is So Lucky To Be Loving You has received rave reviews.
Wayne is right at home in the role of performer/entertainer. Musically and theatrically, he has taken the spotlight in venues ranging from some of the largest sports stadiums to the finest concert halls, equally comfortable whenever speaking or singing on stage.
He has performed the National Anthem on Opening Day for the Chicago Cubs for 34 consecutive years. He also sang before Games 3 and 5 of the 2016 World Series. Wayne spent 13 seasons with the Chicago Blackhawks at historic Chicago Stadium and is now heard at Chicago Wolves Hockey games, the team of which he is a founding partner.
He is the co-founder and co-owner of Wayne Messmer & Associates, LLC, a Chicago-based, financial services firm.
The powerful story of Wayne’s miraculous comeback after being shot in the throat in an armed robbery attempt on April 9, 1994 in Chicago has touched thousands of people across the country. His experience is chronicled in his book, The Voice of Victory. He is a Certified Professional member of the National Speakers Association, NSA-IL, and (SAG/AFTRA) Screen Actors Guild/American Federation of Television and Radio Artists.
Wayne and his wife Kathleen, also an accomplished singer/actress reside in a northern suburb of Chicago. They are blessed to enjoy two grown daughters, three granddaughters and a grandson in their lives.
