Terrence R. Brady (Terry) is President of Underwriters Laboratories Inc. (UL). In his role Terry sets the direction, priorities and strategies for UL’s standards development, scientific research, education and public outreach activities. Terry is a recognized thought leader in global safety science and a frequent speaker and author on empowering trust in a world of increasingly complex supply chains and technologies.
Terry previously served as UL’s Chief Commercial and Legal Officer, managing key functions including legal services, ethics and compliance, government affairs, global security and brand protection, corporate marketing and enterprise strategy.
Prior to joining UL, Terry was an associate and partner for 27 years in the Chicago office of Winston & Strawn LLP, concentrating his practice in mergers and acquisitions, securities offerings and corporate governance. Terry graduated with honors from Dartmouth College and Notre Dame Law School, where he was Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Law, Ethics & Public Policy.
Terry lives in Winnetka, Illinois with his wife and two sons.
