Come out for fellowship in Room 830 of the Union League Club for a cash bar reception (purchase tickets on site, may be billed to your Rotary account).
Special exhibit on "The Rotary Room".
The Union League Club Board of Directors and the Rotary Club of Chicago Board have, after five years of discussion, approved a remodeling of Room 830, currently called the Colonial Room, into a high tech meeting space for ULC members, guests, corporate meetings, etc.
The Rotary Club of Chicago is making a grant for the rooms remodeling and the ULC has agreed to call the Room "The Rotary Room".
On display at this 'pre-construction' event will be design concepts for the room.
Upon completion, The Rotary Room will include significant artwork from the Rotary Club of Chicago including, but not limited to:
The original portrait of Paul Harris by famous portrait artist John Docheroff, a mural by Richard Grell that hung in the Sherman Hotel for over 70 years, the ROTARY/One office door from the Sherman Hotel and the Chicago Athletic Association years. In addition, there will be two display cabinets for Rotary/One and Rotary International to provide historical accomplishments of Rotary which have prospective interest to the public.
